what is gemattia?

gemattia is a gemological reference database that stores detailed information about gemstones and their respective physical and chemical properties. With this information, gemologists can accurately identify, pronounce, and compare different gems. Gemattia also contains detailed descriptions and images of each stone, which makes it an invaluable tool for both professional jewelers and the general public.

Gemologists use Gemattia to help accurately identify a stone by its color, clarity, cut, size, treatment type/status, mass weight, shape (round/faceted/cabochon/oval/pear/etc..), hardness scale (Mohs), refractive index (RI), fluorescence intensity (strong/medium/weak), Dispersion (FoV-S) and other basic physical characteristics. The database is organized so that the properties are easy to discern with just a few clicks. Once the stone is identified then other details such as its origin of origin can be searched in the database. In addition to helping with identification of stones Gemattia also provides a wealth of information on other aspects of gemology such as care tips for cleaning gems and appraising their value in different regions of the world as well as detailing various treatments (or enhancements) they can go through.

how does gemattia work?

Gematria (alternatively spelled gimatria) is an ancient system of assigning numerical values to words, phrases and sentences. It is believed to have originated in the cultures of ancient Babylonia and is closely linked with Kabbalah, a form of Jewish mysticism. Gematria is used as a form of divination, which seeks to uncover hidden meanings or associations. Through its calculations, each word and phrase can be associated with a number that has a symbolic significance.

The most common system for gematria assigns numerical values to Hebrew letters. Every letter in the Hebrew alphabet is given a numerical value, from one up to 400. The sum or total of all the numerical values of each letter within a word will provide you with that word's 'gematria value'. By grouping words that have the same gematria value together, it is possible to uncover profound connections between these various terms and phrases – connections that can offer insight into both ordinary situations and spiritual matters alike.

For example, let's take the phrase 'Kabbalah Wisdom'. In its Hebrew rendering it looks like this: כַּבָּלָה חכמה. Adding up the numbers associated with each letter gives us a total gematria value of 456, which links this particular phrase to other words such as 'miracles' (same gematria value) and 'Torah' (nearly the same). Other words related by gematria include 'righteousness', 'temple' and even 'sacrifice' – all sharing similar levels of wisdom as represented by their shared gematriotical aggregate numbers.

Gematria can also be used on names or initials – even if they are not written in Hebrew – by assigning each letter with its English equivalent number (A = 1; B = 2; etc.) Using this approach one can find out whether there are any correlations between two different names or entities; such as identifying people who may show remarkable affinities for one another through a comparison of their initials via Gematbit (Gematriotical Numeric Values).
